“Mitmachen Ehrensache” campaign and “Christmas tree” project

CeramTec Supports Local Children’s and Youth Clubs

For a good cause: This Advent, CeramTec was supporting two local children’s and youth clubs. Kreisjugendring Esslingen e.V. and Menschenskinder Plochingen e.V. both received financial support from the company. While a group from Menschenskinder decorated the Christmas tree in the CeramTec cafeteria, twelve young people got a chance to experience the work environment at the headquarters in Plochingen as part of “Mitmachen Ehrensache” – a campaign in which young adults work a day at participating companies and donate the money to a charitable cause.

The children from Menschenskinder e.V. had a lot of fun
participating in the Christmas tree project and are proud
of the result.

This is the third time CeramTec has been involved in the “Mitmachen Ehrensache” campaign. On December 4th, one day ahead of International Volunteer Day, twelve young people from Plochingen and the surrounding area got a chance to see what it’s like to work at CeramTec. CeramTec rounded up the amount earned from their symbolic wages of €5/hour for a total of €1,000, which will be donated to the “Kreisjugendring Esslingen e.V.” youth club.

The “Christmas tree” project also took place for the first time this year: At the end of November six children from “Menschenskinder e.V.” decorated the Christmas tree in the cafeteria at the CeramTec site in Plochingen using stars and ornaments that they made themselves from twigs and pine cones. As a thank you gift, CeramTec is donating €200 to the club for crafting materials as well as for trips and events.
