SiAION Ceramics SL 506

The silicon nitride ceramic SL 506 was designed specifically for finishing and semi-finishing (rough finishing) as these methods require stable edges. This grade incorporates resistant materials which give the cutting edge long-lasting sharpness. The SL 506 grade’s greatest performance potential is seen in continuous and intermittent cuts, both in turning (external turning, internal turning) and boring applications. Its advantages include low cutting forces and the associated good dimensional accuracy and surface finish with excellent tool life. What’s more, the cutting material is equipped with IKS-PRO notch type clamping for maximum clamping security.
