CeramTec gives the gift of joy: Instead of giving customers gifts at Christmas, the experts for advanced ceramics decided last year to do something for a good cause – and raised a large sum of money for this purpose. Nearly €17,000 were donated to the “Sterntaler” children’s Hospice in Dudenhofen on March 14th.

CeramTec Managing Director Dr. Hadi Saleh presented the generous donation to the children’s hospice, which helps terminally ill children and their families. This was made possible in part thanks to CeramTec employees who contributed their own money to the donation. The Managing Director of the Medical Applications Segment, Dr. Hadi Saleh, decided to match the funds that were raised. CeramTec then doubled this amount once again, resulting in a handsome sum totaling €16,912.50.

“It is a great pleasure for us to support the Sterntaler children’s hospice with a donation. We are proud that with the financial support of our employees and all of CeramTec we are able show our sympathy and we hope that the money will help provide some respite to the children and their families. Care facilities like Sterntaler are extremely important.”

The donation was presented directly at the hospice in Dudenhofen near Mannheim in the presence of CeramTec Managing Director Dr. Hadi Saleh, Bernd Digel, who was responsible for collecting the funds within CeramTec, and Ms. Beate Däuwel, who represented the children’s hospice association “Kinderhospiz Sterntaler e. V.”. This financial contribution once again demonstrates CeramTec’s strong commitment to social causes.

The Mannheim-based association “Kinderhospiz Sterntaler e. V.” helps terminally-ill children and their families on their difficult journeys. The pillars of the association include the stationary “Kinderhospiz Sterntaler”, a children’s hospice in Dudenhofen, the “Häusliche Kinderkrankenpflege Sterntaler”, outpatient care services for sick children at home in the Rhein-Neckar region, “Kindertagespflege Sterntaler”, which provides day care services for children, and “Familienbegleiter Sterntaler”, a group of volunteers who support sick children and young adults whose life expectancies have been cut short and their families in the Rhein-Neckar region.
