As one of the largest employers in the region Hochfranken, CeramTec takes social responsibility toward the people who live here very seriously and supports local social projects year after year. For this reason the CeramTec Group’s CTO Sigurd Adler presented the CEO of Sparkasse Hochfranken a donation check in the amount of EUR 2,000 in July. The money will go toward the “Hilfe für Nachbarn e.V.” (“Help for neighbors”) non-profit organization, a joint initiative of Sparkasse Hochfranken and Frankenpost. The assistance goes to people who, through no fault of their own, need help and can urgently use financial support. The check was presented at the CeramTec plant in Marktredwitz.

The charity “Hilfe für Nachbarn e.V.” was founded 14 years ago with a mission to bring quick and unbureaucratic relief directly to people in need. This philosophy is also shared by CeramTec, which was the reason the company chose to donate to this project this year. The program helps people affected by serious illness and who need assistance to receive treatments not covered by their insurance or people who are socially disadvantaged and lack clothing, household supplies or similar items. CeramTec’s donation is not for any specific project; the organization has a jury that decides who will benefit from the assistance.

CeramTec has 750 employees at the site in Marktredwitz including 40 trainees. With a tradition that dates back 111 years, it is CeramTec’s oldest plant and was founded in 1903. CeramTec’s site in the Franconian town of Marktredwitz is home to the Electronic Applications, Chemical Applications and Medical Products divisions. The experts for advanced ceramics are currently expanding the Medical Products division and making major investments in the site, which will create new jobs and training positions.
