21st J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge with participation of the ceramic experts

13 out of 68,709 – CeramTec Runners take part in the J.P. Morgan Company and Charity Run

On June 12th, 13 runners from CeramTec’s sites in Plochingen and Lauf an der Pegnitz made their way to Frankfurt to take part in this year’s J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge Company and Charity Run.

Olympic figure skating champion Katarina Witt fired the starting shot for the 21st company run, sending 68,709 runners from 2,782 companies on the 5.6 kilometer run through Frankfurt’s historic city center. The weather was perfect for running and the CeramTec Team couldn’t have been in better spirits. Everyone reached the finish line, exhausted yet ecstatic.

The relaxed atmosphere around the square in front of the “Alte Oper” (“Old Opera”) was the ideal setting for spectators and runners to raise their glasses together and enjoy the remainder of the evening. The CeramTec team’s evening came to a close at an event at Chemetall, which had graciously offered its restaurant facilities to the over 150 Rockwood Running Team participants from all of the different subsidiaries.

The charity run raised € 247,500 for young athletes with disabilities. This year’s male and female winners were both extremely fast. Simon Stützel of Scholarbook ran the 5.6 kilometer stretch in 16:08 minutes. The fastest female runner was Tinca Uphoff from the Goethe-Universität Frankfurt, who finished in 19:07 minutes.
