AMB 2012 from September 18–22 in Stuttgart

The Exhibition for Metalworking with the Machining Experts from SPK®

AMB is the leading international trade fair for manufacturers from machining industries. And the fact that it takes place only once every two years means this is a very important date in the exhibition calender of CeramTec’s SPK® Cutting Tool division for which new product developments and other innovations are planned. Nowhere else do so many potential and current customers come together as at Messe Stuttgart in the middle of September. SPK® is presenting no less than three new innovations again this year at Booth 1-C52:

  • SPK® is showcasing the S3 carrier tool and clamping system that offers maximum process reliability with minimal maintenance effort for high-performance turning. The S3 tool system used in combination with advanced ceramic cutting materials and SPK®’s engineering services for optimization make it possible to design machining processes that are highly productive and cost effective for maximum process reliability with a minimum of tool maintenance.
  • Another SPK® highlight at the fair is the new Soft-Cut double-positive milling system that makes gentle rough milling possible with ceramic cutting materials at high feed speeds – even with fragile or thin-walled components.
  • In addition to these new products, CeramTec is also attracting attention with a revolutionary cutting material. SN 180 is a new oxide ceramic from CeramTec that is redefining performance standards for oxide ceramic cutting materials in high-performance turning of workpieces made from centrifugal casting. SN 180 meets all of the prerequisites for processing workpieces manufactured in centrifugal casting, such as cylinder liners made from low-alloy, pearlitic gray cast types, both in finish turning and rough turning with the highest possible precision and with cost-effective results.
