It all started with my vocational training as an Industrial Clerk here at CeramTec. I found the work to be a lot of fun and talking to colleagues and supervisors made me aware of the extremely interesting opportunities a university education would provide. So I obtained my degree in Business Administration and worked two practical semesters at CeramTec – for me, returning to CeramTec was like “coming home”. I worked at the Lauf site during one of these semesters and was even able to work at CeramTec North America for the other semester. Many of my fellow students were envious of this opportunity.

My plan worked: Following my studies I was immediately offered a position as Junior Key Account Manager in the Electronic Applications Division. And I was surprised at how quickly I was given responsibility for major accounts. I think the experience I had already gained earlier on in the company really paid off. My group of customers was constantly growing – and the order volume grew along with it. At first the group only included European customers; now as Key Account Manager I am responsible for the entire Asian region and selected European customers.

Today I provide major accounts with assistance on existing products or provide technical, commercial and organizational advice for new customers or existing customers interested in new developments – both from the office and on site. This means working closely with the Research and Development Department and Production. Advanced ceramics offer so much potential; sometimes it’s difficult to recognize all the possibilities at first glance. CeramTec provides job security and lets me grow both personally and professionally.
