Dr. Ulf-D. Zimmermann was born in Elze/Hanover, Germany. He studied Management Engineering at the Technical University in Berlin. While obtaining his doctorate in Engineering, he worked as a scientific assistant at the Technical University. From 1980 to 1990 Dr. Ulf-D. Zimmermann worked for Flick KGaA in Ratingen; first as an assistant to the Executive Board, then later as the Managing Director of Eichener Machinenfabrik in Siegerland and Conti Systembau in Ratingen. In 1990 he took over the position of Managing Director of the Diesel Engines Division of KHD AG in Cologne. From there Dr. Ulf-D. Zimmermann went on to become Division Manager of GEA AG Bochum in 1996, where he headed up WestfaliaSurge Oelde/Chicago. On April 1, 2001 he was appointed to the Executive Board of Dynamit Nobel AG Troisdorf. He simultaneously accepted the appointment to Chairman of the Executive Board of CeramTec, which belonged to the Dynamit Nobel Group at that time. Following the acquisition by the Rockwood Group in August 2004, Dr. Ulf-D. Zimmermann also took over the role of Division President of this company headquartered in Princeton, NJ, USA. In 2013 Rockwood decided to reposition its business and sold the majority of its portfolio including CeramTec. Dr. Ulf-D. Zimmermann organized this process actively including the sale to Cinven.
Effective 1 October 2014, Dominique Janbon (47) was appointed to the Executice Board of the CeramTec Group as Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Janbon joins from medical technology company Gambro AB, where he was CFO and Senior Vice President since 2012. During his time at Gambro he was part of the senior management team which implemented a new growth strategy for the company. In his role, he contributed significantly to the successful transformation of the company and later to the US$ 4bn sale of the company to Baxter. Dominique Janbon previously held senior positions in finance and commercial development at global pharmaceutical companies Amgen International and Sanofi S.A. Dominique Janbon holds a Master of Sciences in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics and a Master degree in Economics, Management and Finance from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris. He is a French national.
Sigurd Adler, born on February 28, 1959, assumed the role of Technical Director of the CeramTec Group in April 2011. After completing his graduate degree in Engineering in Darmstadt, Sigurd Adler worked for several different global corporations in the mechanical engineering, automotive supply, building materials and specialty chemicals sectors. Among others, he filled positions at Kühnle, Kopp & Kausch AG, Rockwool GmbH and for the past ten years at Umicore AG, where he was Vice President of Global Production & Technology and Director South America responsible for the company's catalytic converter division. He contributed and expanded his technical expertise in leadership roles in the areas of production and product and process development. He is also experienced in leading and developing globally-oriented businesses operating in highly competitive technological markets.
