Pick-ups for music instruments
Small piezoceramic sensor plates mounted in the bridge of for example guitars underneath the strings pick up the vibrations generated by the strings and convert them into electrical signals. These signals can then be electronically distorted, amplified or recorded. A solution which has had an enduring effect on rock and pop music.
As the piezo ceramic acts as a vibration sensor, it can be used in almost all music instruments.
