SPK-WURBON® with high CBN content
Top grades for machining of cast iron
The SPK-WURBON® grades according to ISO classification BH featuring a CBN content of approx. 75–95 % are particularly suited for machining of cast iron since they offer high toughness and resistance to abrasion. In high-performance machining, they mainly used for turning and milling operations on grey cast iron, nodular cast iron, chilled cast iron, sintered steel and superalloys.
Applications of the SPK-WURBON® grades with high CBN content

WBN 100
Poly crystalline boron nitride for milling of chilled cast iron, hardened cast iron, sintered metals and hard coatings.
WBN 100 C
is a solid WBN grade for rough machining and finishing of grey cast iron, and for machining chilled cast iron.
WBN 101
is a solid WBN grade, and owing to its optimized toughness and wear resistance is particularly suited for machining rolls made of chilled cast iron.
WBN 735
is the top grade of the range of multi-tipped inserts for finish machining of grey cast iron.
WBN 750
is the recommended grade for highly demanding roughing and finishing and for grooving. WBN 750 inserts come as CBN full face laminated inserts or as multi-tipped inserts.
