Modular Tool Clamping Systems
Today's demands for shorter tool changing times, enhanced productivity, more flexible processes and reduced tool storage costs can only be met with the aid of modular tool changing systems. These must meet the following criteria: High tooling stability and stiffness, reliable resistance to the prevailing machining forces and torques, high reproducibility, quick tool change. In conjunction with suitably adapted clamping technology, modular tool changing systems are a significant factor in achieving increased performance and efficiency while effectively reducing costs. Therefore we offer our clamping systems IKS and IKS-PRO for the modular tool changing systems CMS (Capto-System*) and FTC (Block-Tool-System*) too.
CMS
The polygonal-tapered Capto tool changing system with its modular interface
for stationary and rotating tools can be ideally combined with our IKS
technology and CeramTec cutting materials for complete turning processes.
Apart from its outstanding torsional and bending stiffness, the CMS system
is noted for its high reproducibility and tool change accuracy, low runout and
precision tool centering properties.
FTC
FTC combines the IKS clamping system with the modular interface of block tool
solutions. This system is used mainly for stationary tools used in outside
surface machining. Noted for its outstanding stability, it has proven its
merits in numerous manufacturing environments in combination with our ceramic
cutting products, specifically for turning disc-shaped workpieces.
