Award of The German Society for Orthopaedics and Orthopaedic Surgery (DGOOC1) for research on the use of ceramic implants in joint replacement – endowed by CeramTec AG
Announcement of the 2010 Research Award
The German Society for Orthopaedics and Orthopaedic Surgery (DGOOC1) in collaboration with CeramTec AG has offered since 2003 an annual award for research together with the sum of 5,000 Euros (formerly known as the BIOLOX® award).
The Research Award has now been endowed by CeramTec AG until 2012.
The Research Award is offered to young doctors, engineers, and scientists up to age 45 for outstanding research and development work in the field of bioceramics and the problem of wear in joint replacements and in combination with clinical results of ceramic implants.
The work can have been published in a professional journal or in a book. Also accepted are unpublished manuscripts, which are intended for publication or which have already been submitted for publication. Likewise, diplomas, dissertations and post-doctoral dissertations are accepted. Work, which has already received a similar award, is not accepted.
The award winner is selected by a jury of the DGOOC.
The Research Award is presented each year by the President of the DGOOC at the annual meeting of the society.
The 2010 Research Award will be presented on the occasion of the combined congress of the German Society for Accident Surgery (DGU2), the German Society for Orthopaedics and Orthopaedic Surgery (DGOOC1) and the Professional Association for Orthopaedic Specialists (BVO3) in Berlin from 26st to 29th October, 2010.
