12th International BIOLOX® Symposium 2007
The International BIOLOX® Symposium, held yearly from 1996 to 2007, features an ambitious programme and provides an excellent opportunity for an interdisciplinary exchange of views and experience between orthopaedic specialists, engineers and scientists. From 2007 on, the symposium will become a biennial event. The 13th International BIOLOX® Symposium is scheduled for 2009.
Renowned national and international speakers provide information on new and important developments in joint replacement. Current perceptions and the latest concepts in the field of tribology will be presented together with their significance in clinical practice.
On account of the high level of worldwide acceptance and the requirements of participants themselves, the BIOLOX® Symposium has developed over the years into an all-inclusive forum on topics related to the application of ceramics in hip joint replacement. At this forum orthopaedic specialist, who are for or against various treatment strategies, can discuss current trends in materials optimization and technology, can present clinical case studies and can discuss possible solutions in an open and target-oriented way.
On these topics papers are presented by invited speakers who are experts in their fields. In addition, participants can submit their own papers using the open “Call for Papers” option and can thereby participate actively and influence the content of the meeting. The medical forum is not only a podium for active discussion on the current status of clinical practice and research, but also provides information and training possibilities for participants, who can exchange ideas with well-known authorities in the field.
All the papers presented at the symposium will be published in the conference proceedings, which can also be purchased through booksellers.
The 12th International BIOLOX® Symposium took place on 7th and 8th September in Seoul (South Korea). Further information can be obtained here.
