Biocompatibility
The strong bonding between aluminium and oxygen ions is the basis for the extremely good corrosion resistance of BIOLOX®forte, which is why components made of this material provide excellent biocompatibility in the human body. BIOLOX®forte implants, on account of their high purity and the strong chemical bonding of their crystalline structure, are highly resistant to all chemical reactions. They are bioinert. BIOLOX®forte ceramics release no metal ions, exhibit superior tissue compatibility and cause no undesirable allergic responses.
