Dr. Ulf-D. Zimmermann
(CEO)
Dr. Ulf-D. Zimmermann was born on 19 September 1949 in Elze near Hanover.
He studied Business Engineering at the Technical University Berlin. While
completing his doctorate, he worked as a scientific assistant at the TU until
1980.
From 1980 to 1990, Dr. Ulf-D. Zimmermann worked for Flick KGaA in Ratingen, initially as an assistant to the management, later as Managing Director of Eichener Maschinenfabrik in the Siegerland region and Conti Systembau in Ratingen. In 1990, he took over the position of Chief Executive Officer for the diesel engines division at KHD AG Köln. From there, Dr. Ulf-D. Zimmermann moved to GEA AG, Bochum, in 1996 as a member of the executive board and headed up WestfaliaSurge Oelde, Chicago. On 1 April 2001, he was appointed to the executive board of Dynamit Nobel AG, Troisdorf. At the same time, he became Chairman of CeramTec, which belongs to the Dynamit Nobel Group. Following the acquisition by the Rockwood Group in August 2004, Dr. Ulf-D. Zimmermann took on the additional function of Divisional President of this company based in Princeton, N.J., USA.
Rolf-Michael Müller
Rolf-Michael Müller was born on 24 May 1958 in Bielefeld. He studied Business
Economics from 1979 to 1983 at the European Business School, graduating as "Diplom-Betriebswirt".
After starting his career at Arthur Andersen & Co. in Frankfurt, he moved to
Metallgesellschaft AG Frankfurt. The focal points of his work were in the areas
of controlling and corporate development, most recently as Head of Department.
In 1992, Rolf-Michael Müller became Managing Director of Cerasiv GmbH, which
was merged into the new CeramTec in 1996 in the wake of the amalgamation with
Hoechst CeramTec. On 1 September 1996, he was appointed Executive Board Member
for Finance at CeramTec and is responsible there for the areas of Finance,
Accounting, Controlling, IT, Human Resources, Legal Affairs and Purchasing.
Rolf-Michael Müller is chairman of the German Ceramic Industry Association (Verband der Keramischen Industrie) and member of the board of the Institute of the German Economy / Cologne (Institut der deutschen Wirtschaft Köln).
Sigurd Adler
Dipl.-Ing. Sigurd Adler (52 years old, married, 2 children) assumed the role of Chief Technical Officer of the CeramTec Group on April 1, 2011. He is the successor to Professor Dr. Jürgen Huber, who held this position since 1999. After completing his mechanical engineering studies in Darmstadt, Dipl.-Ing. Sigurd Adler worked for several different global corporations in the mechanical engineering, automobile supply, building materials and specialty chemicals sectors. Among others, his filled positions at Kühnle, Kopp & Kausch AG, Rockwool GmbH and, for the past 10 years, Umicore AG. As Vice President of Global Production & Technology and as Director South America, Mr. Adler was responsible for the company's catalytic converter division. He was able to contribute and expand his technical expertise in leadership roles in the areas of production and product and process development. Mr. Adler is also experienced in leading and developing globally oriented businesses operating in highly competitive technological markets.
