Lasered substrates with tight tolerances
CeramTec has experience in lasering for more than 35 years and is one of the biggest laser houses world-wide.
Eliminating the time-consuming and costly
tool fabrication stage, laser cutting allows
us to produce substrates with various outside
contour geometries, holes, cut-outs,
and snap-lines. A special service we offer to
our customers is the transfer of their CAD
data via a remote data transmission line.

When manufacturing Al2O3 substrates computer-controlled CO2-lasers are used for scribing, cutting, and drilling to very small tolerances (minimum hole diameter: 0.15 mm); processing AlN substrates we use our Nd-Yag-laser unit.
For improved edge-properties, we offer the following finish options:
- edge-treated
- perfect edge
Additionally we can offer our Quick Service program: lasered substrates can be supplied within 48 hours.
After the laser process our substrates can be metallized on-site in our facilities.
All common formats up to 152 mm x 203 mm available.
