Characteristics of piezoelectric ceramics
Piezoelectric materials are characterized by specific parameters, some of which are summarized in the materials chart (see link below). The values of these parameters are determined on standardized specimens in the form of small-signal measurements according to EN 50324 and exhibit a dependence on temperature and time. For this reason, measurements are usually taken at temperatures between 20 °C and 25 °C 24 hours after polarization. Properties can deviate in using different dimensions and production technologies.
Due to the polycrystalline nature of piezoceramics, but also as a result of statistical variations in their composition and production-related influences, the data stated should be interpreted as typical values only. They are intended as a guide for the design of piezoceramic applications. The standard tolerance range is ±20%. Specific needs are open to discussion.
